Celebrity Hairstyles to Steal for Prom 2018 – Four Great Looks

Classic Hollywood Look for long hair

A beautiful look right off the red carpet, this long Veronica Lake style do is easy to achieve with a good curling iron and some strong hairspray. Sported this year at the Oscars by the likes of past winner Kate Winslet and always hip Cameron Diaz, this is a sophisticated alternative to an up-do for prom.

How to do it:

Using a curling iron, take the tongs and start on the top of the hair and wrap it around from the roots on a diagonal, remove the tong, but keep the curls wound-up and pin it close to your head with a clip. Repeat around the whole head. Let your hair cool, then remove the clips and tease your hair into looser waves. Spray with hairspray.

Sophisticated, modern up-do

For a fun, but still formal look check out Olivia Munn’s look from the 2017 Grammy awards. This is a simple and easy way to get your hair off your shoulders to show off your frock for Prom this season.

How to do it:

First, part hair in the middle and pull it back into a low, loose ponytail. Section your hair in strands and arrange each strand to pin at the back of the head, piece-by-piece. If your hair is not naturally wavy or curly, you can loosely curl each strand to create a wilder look before pinning it back.

Curly Do

Another sweet look from the Grammy awards this year was worn by Taylor Swift. This effortless look can be achieved by even those who aren’t naturally blessed with golden curls. To achieve this look, use a curling iron (on dry hair) or leave-in curlers (on wet hair) and gently let the curls looks, being sure not to let them get frizzly. Gently part your hair on the side and sweep the curls into a low bun to the opposite side of your head. Secure with some pins and extra strong hairspray.

Short and Sassy

If your hair is shorter and you’re willing to be daring and take your hair to a new style level, aim high for a look like Carey Mulligan’s from the Oscars red carpet. This amazing look, though maybe not easy for everyone to pull off, is sure to knock ’em dead. Taking a retro-look from the days of Audrey Hepburn, be sure to dress it up with a dazzling pair of earrings just like Carey.

How to do it:

Chop off the locks, then use some simple gel to style the hair to one side. Couldn’t be easier or faster.
